I Was Framed

Shocking as it may (or may not) seem I have been in jail a few times.

Now lets not get all hung up on who did what to who, what car (or boat) was stolen, who got cut with what knife that was never found, who started the tire fire, if I was even in the vicinity of that explosion out in the San Rafael Desert in summer of 2000 (because I wasn't) or if that truck was thoroughly destroyed (it was) My whole point is taking real life experiences and shaking them by the throat until they fit something you can use for a story that will feel real. I write action stories, I suppose its a good thing I have lived an eventful, relatively law-abiding (so far as you know) action-packed life.

Lots of great nuggets to mine for future tales of derring-do. What do you have?

Well, I've been through two pregnancies, so I can write all about vomiting. And torture by Lego. But that's about it, really. Pretty sad, huh?

I'm so laughing about the idea of you in jail!

I've had a pretty eventful life, in my own opinion. I've served a mission, gone through many dramatic break-ups for every reason but especially infidelity, including engagements. We've had pregnancy problems, financial problems, family problems. Now I'm alone raising 2, soon to be 3 kids, while my husband is deployed. Not to mention the teenage years--plenty of ripe, overbearing drama to draw from!

I've been close twice, but no bars. I'm pleased about that.

I can totally picture you in jail. As far as my life--I got nothin'. Just a boring, responsible goody two-shoes. Sigh. Well, there's been plenty of family drama, but I don't write family dramas. (I have enough in real life, I guess.) So, I just steal experiences from others.

Melanie-you could turn that into torture I suppose.

Tamara-lots there, I look forward to your stuff.

Charles-my encounters wree brief, as in mere hours-but I can understand being proud of not staying at the grey-bar motel.

Kessee-exactly.

Th.-now I'm just curious.

Angie-that's fine too-I never suggest we have to write what we know-it kills imagination.

You were framed?? That is what all criminals say.

Daron-I prefer to be called a Villain not a criminal.

Oh, right. Villain. I knew I should've consulted the thesaurus.

Thats the way all proper criminals prefer it.

LOL, you? Really? Wow...

What do I have? I have an abusive past as a child. All abuses given. I've given into peer pressure and tried some bad stuff. I've had to fight my way back into good standing with the church. I've been separated in my marriage. I've almost lost one of my kids during pregnancy. I've felt God's pure love and forgiveness embrace me. I've shared the gospel from middle school til now, even though I didn't serve a mission. I've lost loved ones really close to my heart to death. I've been sexually assaulted. I know karate. I've driven in a strange state in the middle of the night. I've lost a house before to bad debt. I almost drowned. I'm terrified of heights. I have nightmares of bears attacking me and being trapped in a huge buildings where armed men are out to kill me.
uh... I can think of more, but this will take up your comments space.

You have a lot out there to pull from Elizabeth, hang in there.

Love the picture you found to share with this most shocking news. Tsk tsk, David.

I've been bullied and physically attacked in grade nine gym class. I've had jellyfish thrown at me (the splat sound they make hitting the sidewalk is too cool).

It's quite fascinating to think what experiences we've had that can translate into powerful fiction.

Kim-thats a good one, I have never heard of anyone being assaulted with jellyfish.

Every day brings new ideas. Unfortunately sometimes I am too consumed to recognize them. But there are plenty of good ones out there. We all have them--we just have to think really hard.

I should have been run over by a car once and was knocked to the ground so it didn't happen. I have no idea who knocked me down (I don't think they were visible to mortal eyes--know what I mean). I should use that one some time.

I agree though. I want to know what Th. has been up to. Cliff hanger!

Lisa-I know what you mean those can make for some great stories.

Hey, me again. I left you an award on my blog. It's a sci-fi/fantasy award! Check it out.

I KNEW you were a jailbird the first time I saw you! :)

Me? Hmmm...I better not say. Some statutes of limitations have not yet expired.

Thanks Angie.

Karlene-ouch, but yeah you need to be careful for at least 7 years.
