Heroes Of The Fallen: New Cover + Reviews

Here it is the newly tweaked cover for Heroes of the Fallen. To be released now in early 2010.

How about a couple reviews thus far.

"Heroes of the Fallen is a Book of Mormon historical that reads like an epic fantasy. It's not often that the LDS market sees something truly new, but West's debut novel really is different. It was refreshing. A breath of fresh air--and a lot of fun."
--Rob Wells

"David West’s debut novel, Heroes of the Fallen, will transport you into an epic tale comprised of the haunting historical events that eventually lead to the downfall of an entire civilization. Written with captivating characters and vivid descriptions of a grand culture, the powerful setting and poetic language make this novel a monumental retelling of the Nephites’ final years of existence."
—H.B. Moore, author of Abinadi and Alma

This cover is lightyears ahead of the previous cover art. My biggest beef with the older cover art was that there wasn't as much negative space to make the shadows look really good. Honestly it was two blobs with weapons. This is way way waaay better! It's considerably more dynamic due to there being more diagonal lines such as the sword and spear. Also, showing more of the bodies adds a lot more to it. Overall the great amount of action fits the silouhette theme better. I also likes how it gets darker towards the top of the piece, giving better contrast and drawing your eyes to the title. Well done, I likey likey lots!

I can't remember the old cover! could you post it for comparison?

I'm also bitterly disappointed that your novel has been pushed back! I was so looking forward to it. Oh well! That probably happens a lot.

David, the cover rocks. It makes you want to dive right in. Theres conflict before you even open the book.

I like this one a lot, too, because it's more action-oriented and easier to see right off what the book is about. Do you really WANT to have the old one up for comparison? Or should we let it slip into oblivion?
Or should you quick make a color copy of it on nice paper at Kinko's and maybe it will be worth lots of money someday lol?

The cover really captures the world that you will present to the reader. It fits the idea of what is in your epic. The wheels grind slow for your release, but anything worth waiting for is worth waiting a little longer for.
